Changi Dash - Part 1

We participated in the 1st Changi Dash on 22nd September 2012. The dash was so fun and tiring for both me and Tan Z Y.

Changi Airport first posted on their facebook page to encourage fans to sign up for this event, thereafter 20 individual will be picked randomly and from the point they informed us, we have 24hrs to find a partner and confirmed our participation. :) Participant have own a facebook & twitter account.

Was telling TAN Z Y how much i want to go for this and was so happy to receive Eugene's email informing me i was picked. *Super excited !

This event see 20 teams of 2 participating, and the grand price was $5000 worth of Changi voucher and 1 pair of Silkair ticket to ANY destination. I keep telling TAN Z Y and friends it was a pair of ticket to Hanoi, dont know why i have this impression but no it's for ANY destination!

Many have asked what is a "Changi Dash", here's what we would explain. Its an amazing race style of game all around Changi - including all the Terminal 1, 2 & 3 + Budget Terminal :O you can imaginng how much we run now! We only expect them to let us run around Terminal 3 because that was the meeting point for all the 20 teams. Too naive of us :P

Starting the race at 10am, that is Eugene giving us the briefing.

You can see that the only time we get to rest was during the skytrain ride from one terminal to the other or when we are solving the clue, rest of the time was just running/DASHING !

A total of 10 challenges have to be complete at all 10 stations. For each challenge you complete at that particular station, a clue will be given to you, you have to solve it before knowing where is the next station.
Apart form these, they give us 5 set of code breaker that will help us decode the clue.

I remember one of the clue was to decode the word using code breaker. After decoding it, we have to rearrange the word and we get "BAHASA MELAYU" and right below it was a picture of sweet & love.

This was the first clue given so it took us a while to react, we manage to figure out it was to translate "SWEET LOVE into BAHASA MELAYU" which give you Chinta Manis - a restaurant/cafe at Terminal 2. i didnt know its existance and the meaning till that very day!

This is another one of the clue we decode and it call us to go to DAISY. so, not only we have to know the place at Changi well , we need to know some of their structure!

& the next challenge was to . . .

finish a set of food at one of the Japanese restaurant - SABOTEN. Totally not what we expected, it's more like a benefit than challenge LOL. so thoughtful of them right!

You can imagine how happy TAN Z Y was because we didnt have breakfast. We swallow the food literally HAHA!

Other challenges includes these;

finding the promotional billboard stating "You shop, we absord!",one member have to take a photo with it and post it on twitter! Tan Z Y with Aaron :)

finding this 3D place and taking a photo with one member in it. Honestly, this is a very picture worthy spot & it's still there *gogo!
TAN Z Y ran there himself as i was already half dead HAHA. *Apologies to the people inside, i replace them with stickers :X

finding the Silkair check-in counter and both member must be in the picture. This was another photo being posted to FB :)

Both member must try the ARCHERY and one of us must hit the yellow spot. We both did :P ok lar, because the distance was near and there was people teaching us how to do :D

We have to find the price of 4 items in the whole of Planet Traveller. Photo of the item was given, the picture only show part of the item like it's logo, sentence or even just the owl's eye.
There was this book just right in front of us, but we keep missing it. Reason being the picture given to us, only bare the sentence of the book. 0.0 I guessed the station master really vomit blood LOL.

There was also 2 challenge where only one of us can do it, have to decide before the challenge was given to us! There was one where it say who have more patience and TAN Z Y just say he will do it, tsk why like that haha!

This was the single challenge that require patient, which TAN Z Y take it on. He say it was tough, its about sorting A-Z country that Silkair fly to.
My individual challenge was to find the right perfum, a sample smell was give to us, so yes testing on the sense of smell and the hint was "Scent of a rich man".

Here's the first 10 team who completed the race and we will be seeing them in the finals that will be held on 13th October 2012. Me and Tan Z Y was glad to be one of the 10 teams, we completed 6th that day using a total of about 4hrs before deducting all the likes and retweet.

Each LIKES on our facebook photo and RETWEETS in our twitter will help us reduce the time by 10seconds, which will really help alot in the coming final! We will be posting photo/retweet again during final, so please give us your support ok!
